Medium-sized Dog Breeds That Shed Very Little

All dogs, whether long-haired or short-haired breeds have shiny, beautiful coats but you may not think that your pet's fur looks so wonderful when he or she is having a bad shedding episode :-P If you are looking for a medium-sized dog that does not shed much, check out this list of light-shedding medium dog breeds below (in alphabetical order):

Note: Although, these dogs shed very little, some of them (for example, the Puli) will require considerable grooming to keep their coats clean and healthy!

Yes, Standard Poodles don't shed technically. The hair doesn't fall out of their coat. It needs to be brushed out. They are pretty much hypoallergenic and don't smell.

We have LABS that don't shed. Really. Since they've been on Dinovite we don't have to sweep and vacuum constantly! It's great.

Dogs that look deformed are often breeds that don’t have any more working lines and the show line breeders completely took over. Working lines in breeds are healthy and look similar to their ancestors. For example many show line German Shepherds are very different from working line and Czech German Shepherds that I think they should eventually be considered different breeds.
